Day 2-(23/7/2024) Report Department of School Education and Literacy observes Shiksha Saptah.The aim of Shiksha Saptah is to promote collaboration and the impactful educational reforms introduced by National Education Policy 2020 among students, educators, and stakeholders.Therefore the students of Mary Nilayam senior Secondary School under the guidance of teachers did various activities on 23/7/2024 Tuesday. The students belong to grade 3 and 5.Students of class 5A & 5B under the guidance of Ms.Reeja showed their talent and creativity by making colourful *kites*. The aim of conducting this activity is to promote creativity among the students and the result was wonderful. The whole exercise was a joyous experience for the students as well as the teachers. To bring awareness about our cultural events among children kite making activity was held. Using toys provides learners with opportunities like exploring, imagining, observing, creating, expressing and, most importantly, engaging and playing. If mapped appropriately and strategically with concepts and subjects, the process from making toys to playing with them can also promote experiential learning.The students of class 3A & 3B did it under the guidance of Ms Sreeja. The students took the NIPUN BHARAT PLEDGE prepared by NCERT.All activities were conducted in a successful manner and students were able to learn the concepts through activities

Music skit performed by foundation stage - class 1&2 promoting awareness about healthy food habits , Blooming buds showcased their talents through this activity. To foster the skills of speaking and listening, story telling activity provided.They actively participated with enthusiasm ( classes 1&2) For the preparatory stage, colourful boxes made using the shapesl like cuboid, cubes , rectangle,square etcTheir creativity level is taken to the next level.Around 75 students participated . Learning by doing is inculcated Middle and secondary level students made toys with waste materials like newspapaer, They grasped how to manage the local things effectively.They enjoy collaborative learning. Secondary level students create different version of Ludo.Active participation of the students occured Senior secondary students did Poster making on the theme - Save Water As part of reading club they read and wrote the review of various books

  • The Congregation of the sisters of Apostolic Carmel is an Indian Congregation, which was founded in 1868 by Venerable Mother Veronica, a holy and dedicated woman who has divinely inspired to reach out to the young girls of her day. Today the sisters cater to the needs of the children and young women from Pre-Primary to Post Graduate levels, Teacher’s Training Institutions and Technical Schools with medium of instruction both English and regional languages. Besides the congregation has Crèches, Children’s Homes Boarding Houses Institutions for mentally and physically challenged Children and Social Service Centers in rural and urban areas in India Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kuwait, Bahrain,Kenya,France and Rome. Mary Nilayam Convent and Nursery School was opened on 26 April 1970 at the invitation of the late Bishop Bernard Pereira of Trivandrum. The School grew steadily. Mary Nilayam senior secondary school is an institution run by the sisters of the Apostolic Carmel. Education is the basis of all development.To realize this vision of education, the congregation has taken the mission of imparting quality education to the common population upholding the values that keep the society integrated, harmonious and progressive. Permanent recognition up to class IV was obtained from the Govt. in 1988 and up to classVII in 1990. The school was upgraded in to a High School with CBSE Affiliation in 2001 and to senior Secondary school in 2011. We owe a debt of gratitude to God for all his blessings and guidance to this institution.May God bless all its benefactors,staff and students.
